Softball Recap: Ponderosa Drops Highest Score of Season Against Valor Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ponderosa). Everything went their way against the Valor Christian Eagles on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 18, 2024 (when they won 14-2).

Isabelle Hall was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Skylar Frassetto was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ponderosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ponderosa's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Valor Christian, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ponderosa will challenge Vista Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.29 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valor Christian, they will face off against Cherokee Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
