Basketball Recap: Minersville Takes a Loss

Minersville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 43-20 to the Tamaqua Blue Raiders. The Battlin' Miners were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Lauren Ligenza, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points and three steals for Tamaqua. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolbe Robb, who posted four points and six steals.

Minersville's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Tamaqua, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Minersville will welcome Pine Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tamaqua, they will venture away from home to face off against North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
