Baseball Game Preview: Lamar County Trojans vs. Taylor County Vikings

The Lamar County Trojans will challenge the Taylor County Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lamar County fell victim to Callaway and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Taylor County entered their tilt with Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

With the loss, Lamar County broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Taylor County, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
