Basketball Game Preview: Ridgway Elker vs. St. Marys Flying Dutch

Ridgway is 2-8 against St. Marys since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ridgway Elker will head out to face off against the St. Marys Flying Dutch at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Ridgway is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 32-28 heartbreaker at the hands of Elk County Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Elker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Crusaders are ranked 177th).

Meanwhile, St. Marys lost 36-16 to Brookville on Thursday. The game marked the Flying Dutch's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ridgway's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for St. Marys, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Ridgway came up short against St. Marys in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 38-30. Can Ridgway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
