Baseball Game Preview: Westover Patriots vs. Bainbridge Bearcats

Westover hasn't had much luck against Bainbridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Westover will venture away from home to face off against Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Westover is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Dougherty.

Westover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Thomas, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Jaylan McLloyd was another, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Bainbridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Peach County, falling 9-2. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by exactly seven runs.

Bainbridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Westover, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Westover suffered a grim 19-9 defeat to Bainbridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Westover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
