Softball Game Preview: Holt Indians vs. Orchard Farm Eagles

The Holt Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Orchard Farm Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Holt came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to Winfield. The Indians have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Laney Thompson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Orchard Farm faced off against Valley Park on Wednesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 15-5 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Orchard Farm's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Holt, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-3.

Holt came out on top in a nail-biter against Orchard Farm in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
