Football Recap: Ellicott Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Ellicott's offense. They took a blow against the Buena Vista Demons on Friday, falling 51-0. The Thunderhawks have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Buena Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Schuknecht led the charge by rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Schuknecht's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Pridemore, who rushed for 98 yards and one TD on only six carries.

Ellicott's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Buena Vista, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

The Thunderbolts' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Thunderhawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Buena Vista, they will challenge Steamboat Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Demons 10, the Sailors 12.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
