Recap: Washington Huskies vs. James Logan Colts
The Washington Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-22 defeat at the hands of James Logan. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Washington has scored all season.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khenedi Mcpherson, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
James Logan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cierra Gallardo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Gallardo hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Iwa Lealao, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Washington bumped their record down to 9-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for James Logan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Washington will take on Miramonte at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Miramonte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Wednesday. As for James Logan, they will head out on the road to face off against San Leandro at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. San Leandro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 638th, while James Logan is ranked 239th).
