Soccer Game Preview: Clovis West vs. Clovis

The Clovis West Golden Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Clovis Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis West's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Clovis' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Clovis West's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Buchanan by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Golden Eagles were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Clovis was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Clovis East finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Clovis' draw gives them a new season record of 4-5-3. As for Clovis West, their win bumped their record up to 9-1-2.

Clovis West was able to grind out a solid victory over Clovis when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis West since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
