Softball Game Preview: Southeast Warren Warhawks vs. Twin Cedars Sabers

Southeast Warren and Twin Cedars are an even 5-5 against one another since July of 2017, but likely not for long. The Warhawks will be playing at home against the Sabers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Twin Cedars took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southeast Warren, who comes in off a win.

Southeast Warren's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Central Decatur 14-0. The Warhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Twin Cedars lost 13-3 to North Mahaska on Tuesday.

The victory made it two in a row for Southeast Warren and bumps their season record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Twin Cedars, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Southeast Warren took their victory against Twin Cedars when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Warhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sabers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
