Basketball Recap: Tamaqua Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lauren Ligenza and Kolbe Robb

Tamaqua was the 52-25 winner over Pine Grove when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tamaqua Blue Raiders fell just short of the Pine Grove Cardinals by a score of 42-40 on Thursday. The Blue Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tamaqua's loss came despite strong showings from Kolbe Robb and Lauren Ligenza. Robb posted ten points along with seven assists and four steals, while Ligenza put up 12 points and five blocks. That's the most assists Robb has posted since back in December of 2023.

Pine Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayla Schneck-Haines out in front who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Leininger, who earned nine points.

Tamaqua's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Pine Grove, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7.

Tamaqua wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-19 win against Minersville on the 27th. Pine Grove has also already played their next contest, a 63-42 victory against Pottsville on the 27th.
