Soccer Game Preview: Evans vs. Washington County

The Evans Knights will face off against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evans will be strutting in after a win while Washington County will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Evans got the win against Jefferson County by a conclusive 7-1. It was an even better day for Marcos Pulido Checa as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Washington County's offense. They fell 2-0 to Greene County on Thursday. The Golden Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory made it two in a row for Evans and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two games. As for Washington County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Evans' way against Washington County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Evans made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
