Football Game Preview: Braintree Wamps vs. Newton North Tigers

The Braintree Wamps will venture away from home to take on the Newton North Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Braintree lost 31-7 to Walpole on Friday. The Wamps have struggled against the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Newton North played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Wellesley, falling 42-21. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Newton North now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Braintree, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Braintree strolled past Newton North in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wamps since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
