Basketball Recap: Grossmont Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grossmont can now relate to. They took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mark Keppel Aztecs. The Foothillers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, Grossmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aakash Price dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Price is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Arionna Simpson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Mark Keppel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9 record this season.

Grossmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mark Keppel, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-37 defeat against Rancho Bernardo on the 6th.
