Soccer Recap: Central Valley Christian Falls Short of Santa Maria in the Playoffs

Central Valley Christian and Santa Maria squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Central Valley Christian had to settle for second. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Santa Maria Saints who were credited with the victory. The Santa Maria Saints got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers' six. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, the Cavaliers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Reagan Neese, who's now up to 15 this season.

Central Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Santa Maria, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Central Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Maria, they will be playing at home against Kerman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
