Softball Recap: Pueblo Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pueblo East + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo Central). Everything went their way against the Pueblo East Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-5 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kaydence Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Charley Autobee, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Montes, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Pueblo Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Pueblo Central's record is now 17-3-1. As for Pueblo East, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
