Volleyball Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka was the 3-0 winner over Lund when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Vandals came up short against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Vandals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eureka was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-20, 25-11.

Eureka's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-8. As for Lund, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eureka and Lund will both be playing McDermitt the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Vandals will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
