Softball Game Preview: Macon Tigers vs. Westran Hornets

Macon is a perfect 9-0 against Westran since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Westran took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Macon, who comes in off a win.

Macon gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Palmyra as they made off with a 21-8 victory. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Panthers on their field since September 17, 2015.

Meanwhile, Westran unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-6 to Knox County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hornets have suffered since August 31, 2024.

Westran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Macon, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Macon took their win against Westran in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
