Santa Rosa has gone a perfect 10-0 against Tucumcari recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions will take on the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. Santa Rosa's defense has only allowed 6.3 points per game this season, so Tucumcari's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Santa Rosa's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Legacy Academy on Thursday. They fell 6-0 to the Silverbacks. The Lions have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, Santa Rosa got top-tier performance from David Chavez, who rushed for 156 yards, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, while Tucumcari put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Capitan. The Rattlers blew past the Tigers, posting a 47-0 victory. Considering the Rattlers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Tucumcari's win came from a few key players Santa Rosa will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trip Payn, who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. Those 69 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Luis Archuleta was another key player, picking up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Tucumcari's run defense was locked in: Capitan could only muster 1.1 yards per carry. The Rattlers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.1.

Tucumcari didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daymion Urioste and Joe Salas.

Santa Rosa's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Tucumcari, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Santa Rosa against Tucumcari in their previous meeting back in October, as the squad secured a 49-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
