Soccer Recap: Sioux City East Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sioux City East and Sergeant Bluff-Luton meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Black Raiders fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2. Sioux City East were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sergeant Bluff-Luton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sioux City East dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sioux City East will face off against Spencer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sergeant Bluff-Luton, they will challenge Spirit Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sergeant Bluff-Luton will be up against Spirit Lake's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.71 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
