Central Christian dropped down to 12-6-1 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Hearts Academy Panthers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since February 9th.

Central Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick DiCicco, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Cayden Gazaway also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Hearts Academy, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.

On Hearts Academy's side, Trey Wilson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Wilson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Charlie Bill was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kingston Wright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

While Central Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
