Football Recap: Tolman Wins High-Profile Contest Against Middletown

Tolman faced Middletown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers really took it to the Islanders for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-3 victory. With the Tigers ahead 28-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Tolman can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Torres, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Emmett Talaray, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Tolman's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Middletown, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Tolman is set to face off against their familiar foe Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Middletown will challenge rival Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
