Football Recap: West Ranch Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

West Ranch had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 59-17 defeat at the hands of the Pacifica Tritons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Tritons are ranked 55th).

West Ranch's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Charlie Samuelson, who picked up 120 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and Humza Harsolia, who threw for 136 yards and two TDs.

Taylor Lee was nothing short of spectacular for Pacifica: he threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.9% of his passes. Angel Sepulveda was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.

West Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-6 defeat against Bishop Diego on the 29th. As for Pacifica, they have also already played their next matchup, a 62-0 victory against Oxnard on the 29th.
