Basketball Game Preview: Vallejo Redhawks vs. Elite Eagles

The Vallejo Redhawks will face off against the Elite Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Vallejo's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Elite has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Saturday, Vallejo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-39 to Archie Williams.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zurrie Washington, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 11 points in addition to six assists and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Veekie Head, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 10 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Elite played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Fortune Early College, falling 83-9. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-6.

Elite's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Vallejo, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Everything came up roses for Vallejo against Elite in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, as the team secured a 57-3 win. Will the Redhawks repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
