Soccer Recap: Maranatha Comes Up Short

Maranatha lost to Valley Christian back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Minutemen came up short against the Defenders, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Maranatha can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 897th, while Valley Christian are ranked 227th).

Maranatha's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1. As for Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season.

Maranatha will be playing at home against Whittier Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge California at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
