Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Grovetown

Grovetown entered their tilt with Rockdale County on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Adalyn McCully made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last three matches. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jada Fulbright and Aerisheya Miles did most of the damage at the plate: Fulbright went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Miles got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Alaura Cox was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Grovetown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Grovetown's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Rockdale County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
