Football Recap: Pottsville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pottsville and Blue Mountain meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Crimson Tide were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 49-14. The Crimson Tide were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Andrew Allen threw for 118 yards and two TDs. Shay Strencosky was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Maxwell Clews rushed for 95 yards.

Blue Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cohen Kirby, who threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Kirby's passing game has become a key predictor of the Eagles' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Carter Smith helped Kirby out on the ground, rushing for 60 yards on only eight carries, while also catching one TD.

Pottsville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Blue Mountain, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
