Faith Christian is 1-8-1 against Freedom Christian Academy since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Faith Christian got a massive performance out of Abby Bradley, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave Bradley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Powers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Bradley wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Faith Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Freedom Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Village Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Patriots' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matches.
Victoria Bryant made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Freedom Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Melanie Multerer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Abby Dey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Freedom Christian Academy, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Faith Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Freedom Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .418. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Faith Christian suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Freedom Christian Academy in their previous meeting on March 8th. Can Faith Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
