Soccer Recap: Muscatine's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Muscatine lost against Pleasant Valley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Muskies fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Muscatine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Pleasant Valley are ranked 17th).

Muscatine's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5-1. As for Pleasant Valley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1-1.

Coming up, Muscatine will host Dallas Center-Grimes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Dallas Center-Grimes' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Pleasant Valley, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Wilton on the 29th.
