Softball Recap: Logan-Rogersville Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Logan-Rogersville faced off against Waynesville on Saturday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Riley Mathieson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Courtney Batey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Riley Luikart also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Logan-Rogersville now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Waynesville, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan-Rogersville will host Hartville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waynesville, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ozark at 5:00 p.m.
