Basketball Preview: Springdale Dynamos vs. Ellis
Springdale is 1-9 against the since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Springdale Dynamos will be staying on the road to face off against Ellis at 5:15 p.m. on February 5th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Monday, Springdale had to suffer through a rough 90-20 loss at the hands of the Bears. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Springdale in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Ellis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Serra Catholic at home and fell 53-20. While losing is never fun, Ellis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Eagles are ranked 153rd).
Springdale has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Ellis, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Springdale didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 26-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
