Football Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Melrose and Mancos pushed the score to 50-22 the last time they played Mancos, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Buffaloes took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Michael Resner was nothing short of spectacular for Mancos: he rushed for 164 yards, and also threw for 69 yards and one touchdown. Those 164 rushing yards gave Resner a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Melrose and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Melrose will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Alamo Navajo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mancos, they will challenge Sedgwick County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
