Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pomona Catholic). Their defense stepped up to hand the Ambassador Lions a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. Brooklyn Naomi Rodriguez was a massive factor in the win as she booted in six goals all by herself.

The win (which was Pomona Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Ambassador, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Pomona Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 7-0 victory against San Gabriel Mission on the 16th.
