Recap: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Los Altos Eagles

Sadly, the Palo Alto Vikings are still looking for their first win of the season after 20 contests. Their rough 57-32 loss to Los Altos on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Palo Alto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1037th, while Los Altos is ranked 383rd).

Palo Alto lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eliana Miao, who scored 11 points. Amalia Tormala was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

It was another big night for Natalie Holm, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds for Los Altos. Holm has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella McFarlane, who scored 15 points.

Palo Alto dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Los Altos, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Palo Alto will head out on the road to challenge Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fremont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Los Altos, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lynbrook at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Los Altos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
