Football Recap: Lawrence Comes Up Short on the Road Against Olathe West + How To Watch

Lawrence had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 35-31 to the Olathe West Owls. The Lions gained 120 more yards on the day, but it was the Owls that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Lawrence still got an impressive performance from Tahj Edwards, who rushed for 157 yards and three scores. Jaxon Becker also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.

Olathe West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Hale led the charge by throwing for 130 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 46 yards. Another player making a difference was Sam Krzykowski, who picked up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Lawrence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-7 loss against Junction City on the 12th. As for Olathe West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-17 win against Blue Valley West on the 12th.
