Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Piedmont's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Piedmont won the last time they faced Guthrie and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 9-6 win over the Bluejays.

Avery Kirtley looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Nadia Jeffries was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Briley Pritchett was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Piedmont is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Guthrie, their record is now 12-15-1.

Coming up, Piedmont will look to defend their home field on Monday against Carl Albert at 6:00 p.m. Guthrie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
