Baseball Recap: Jay County Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Jay County came out on top against Winchester Community on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Patriots walked away with a 7-3 win over the Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Jay County got a massive performance out of Braden Wells, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Wells a new career-high. Gavin Byrum was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jay County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Jay County's record now sits at 13-7. As for Winchester Community, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Jay County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
