Volleyball Recap: Shafter Beats Delano for Their 19th Straight Win

Shafter came tearing into Thursday's matchup with 18 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Delano Tigers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Generals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Shafter won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-6, 25-11.

Shafter was led to victory by Macy Ulloa and Rilyn Hanner. Ulloa had 14 digs and one assist, while Hanner hit 72.2% for 13 kills and two blocks and two aces. The last time Hanner's hitting percentage was this high was over her last seven contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Shafter was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 19 consecutive matches.

Shafter's record is now 23-1. As for Delano, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Shafter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Kennedy on the 25th. As for Delano, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Wasco on the 23rd.
