Soccer Game Preview: Firestone vs. Coventry

The Firestone Falcons will face off against the Coventry Comets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Coventry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Firestone, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Firestone turned things around against Garfield on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Rams 2-1.

Meanwhile, Coventry came up short against Washington on Thursday, falling 9-3. That's two games in a row now that Coventry have lost by exactly six goals.

Owen Eder and Andrew Hiner scored all three of Coventry's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Firestone's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Coventry, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Firestone suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Coventry in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Falcons were down 3-0.
