Volleyball Recap: Manzano Has No Trouble Against East Mountain

While Manzano didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the East Mountain Timberwolves with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Monarchs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Manzano was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-12.

Brooke Garcia paced Manzano's offense, picking up 11 kills. Garcia got some help from Alyssa Martinez and her 19 assists. Finally, Roxie Stanford kept Manzano's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

The win made it two in a row for Manzano and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for East Mountain, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 6-7.

Manzano has already played their next matchup (against Del Norte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Mountain, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Cottonwood Classical Prep on the 30th.
