St. Edward hadn't done well against Marian Central Catholic recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Green Wave came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hurricanes, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Green Wave as it spelled an end to their 11-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was St. Edward who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-27, 25-22.

Francesca Buono paced St. Edward's offense, picking up four kills. Buono got some help from Sam Pogorzelski and her nine assists. Pogorzelski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.
