Baseball Recap: Cherokee Christian Takes a Loss

Cherokee Christian easily dispatched North Georgia HomeSchool two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Warriors fell just short of the Harvester Christian Academy Hawks by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in March.

Colton Messer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times he's played.

Cherokee Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Harvester Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Cherokee Christian will host The King's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Harvester Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Heritage Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
