Basketball Game Preview: High Tech SD Storm vs. Del Norte Nighthawks

The High Tech SD Storm will face off against the Del Norte Nighthawks at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

High Tech SD had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 47-25 to Escondido. The Storm were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Poema Strong, who posted 12 points. Aliya Khalighi was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Del Norte beat Vista 63-54 on Friday.

Del Norte's win came from a few key players High Tech SD will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emerson Cole, who had 24 points. She has become a key player for Del Norte: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least 15 points, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Taylor Benitez, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 14 points.

High Tech SD was taken down by Del Norte 66-21 in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Storm were down 42-10.
