Football Recap: Gaithersburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Gaithersburg lost against Churchill back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans were beaten by the Bulldogs 51-7. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 32nd).

Noah Zhang was his usual excellent self, rushing for 89 yards and three scores on only 12 carries for Churchill. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Zhang a new career-high. Bryan Ngouzo also helped out with an impressive 144 receiving yards.

Gaithersburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Churchill, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Gaithersburg will venture away from home to square off against Richard Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. As for Churchill, they are taking a road trip to face off against Seneca Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
