On Friday, Juniata Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Curwensville, taking the game 27-14. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Golden Tide: they've now won three in a row.

Juniata Valley relied on the efforts of Jett Rand, who threw for 188 yards and a pair of TDs, and Andrew Clark, who gained 136 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Rand a new career-high in rushing yards (67). 81 of Rand's passing yards were hauled in by Elah Glenny.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Southern Huntingdon County was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Mount Union 46-9. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Juniata Valley will have to keep a close watch on Eli Rice and Drew Flood, a pair of players who had a big impact on Southern Huntingdon County's prior game. Rice rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while Flood gained 129 total yards.
Juniata Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Southern Huntingdon County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
