Softball Recap: Academy for Classical Education Snags 12th Victory in Last 15 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jeff Davis, Academy for Classical Education was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Peach County Trojans as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The Gryphons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Sophie Denney, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matches. Avery Stone was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Academy for Classical Education has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Peach County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Classical Education will venture away from home to face off against Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.67 runs per game on average), something the Gryphons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Peach County, they will face off against Lamar County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
