Sandy Creek had lost nine games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-19-1 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Fayette County Tigers 23-13. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sandy Creek let Ethan Campbell and Cameron Layfield run wild. Campbell went 2-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Layfield went 2-for-6 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Campbell has become a key player for Sandy Creek: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-18-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Woolfolk, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Sandy Creek lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

As for Fayette County, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-22. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

On Fayette County's side, Montaevious Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Javen Bearden, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Sandy Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fayette County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
