Volleyball Recap: Allie Jenkins Key Part of Team Effort in Tigers Win

Dripping Springs won the last time they faced Westlake and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Chaparrals with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Dripping Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Jenkins, who had 18 assists and six digs. Jenkins has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Robbins, who had 13 digs and one assist.

Despite the loss, Westlake saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyrksen Cook had 20 assists and ten digs.

Dripping Springs' win bumped their record up to 20-15. As for Westlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dripping Springs is set to challenge their familiar foe Lake Travis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westlake will square off against rival Bowie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
