Soccer Game Preview: Cypress vs. Canyon

The Cypress Centurions will square off against the Canyon Comanches at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cypress is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Crean Lutheran. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Saints are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Yorba Linda on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Canyon's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2-2. As for Cypress, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-5.
