Football Recap: Southlake Carroll Dragons vs. Trinity Trojans
Southlake Carroll faced Trinity in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dragons simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 44-6. The Dragons have beaten the Trojans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.
Angelo Renda was his usual excellent self, throwing for 278 yards and three TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Southlake Carroll's leading receiver Brock Boyd was Renda's top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Southlake Carroll didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Demarcus Ware, Jr. and Parker Harris. With that strong performance, Harris is now averaging an impressive 5.7 total tackles per game. Southlake Carroll got some further help from William Leins: he picked up 0.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss).
